On September 29th, Dans le Noir ? Auckland will be hosting a special Tsukimi full moon event. Tsukimi is a Japanese festival that celebrates the full moon in the eighth month of the lunar calendar. It is a time for people to come together and enjoy the beauty of the moon and the harvest season.
An original way to celebrate Tsukimi full moon in Auckland
Dans le Noir ? Auckland's Tsukimi full moon event is a unique opportunity to experience this traditional Japanese festival in a truly unique way. By dining in complete darkness, guests will be able to focus on their other senses and appreciate the food and drink on a whole new level.
The evening will begin with a brief introduction to the concept. Guests will then be led into the dining room, where they will enjoy a four-course surprise menu prepared by Chef Akihiro Nakamura. The four-course surprise menu will feature a variety of traditional Japanese dishes, made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The meal can be paired with a selection of wine.
At the end of the meal, the menu will be revealed and guests will have the chance to meet the Chef and learn more about the dishes they have enjoyed. Each guest will also receive a glass of sake to toast the full moon.
