The chef took on the challenge of creating a surprising menu to be enjoyed in total darkness at the restaurant Dans le Noir ? Auckland. By playing with textures, flavors and smells, Akihiro Nakamura has created a surprising and original menu to awaken your taste buds. Thanks to the use of fresh and seasonal products, the flavors are powerful in the dark. 

Before the experience begins: 

Guests prepare for a life-changing experience. All food allergies and intolerances are catered for by our team upon arrival. All personal belongings, including cell phones, are left in the checkroom for total immersion in the dark. Then, in complete darkness, accompanied by a waiter-guide, guests are taken through a magical and meaningful experience that will change their perception of the world. 

The 3-course menu: 

This menu for one person includes an entree, a main course, and a dessert. A wine pairing can also be added to complete the experience if the guests desire. This experience ends with a debriefing of the surprise menu. Laughter and amazement guaranteed!
